BNI members donate bikes to needy kids

St. Joseph’s Orphanage and Rob’s Kids charities are the recipients of new bikes donated by the Cincinnati franchise of Business Network International. The bikes were assembled at a “Bike Build” station during the 2016 BNI U.S. National Conference.

YWCA awards scholarships

Ten girls have received scholarships through the YWCA’s Mamie Earl Sells Scholars program. Presented by Kroger, the scholarship recognize African-American high school girls for academic achievement, leadership, extracurricular involvement and community service.

If it’s true, as they say, that opposites attract, Pappano and Küchle are living proof of it. He’s a champion of new music, of pushing – or pulling, perhaps – opera into the 21st century. She, on the other hand, is devoted to early music. For her, 16th- and 17th-century composers like Claudio Monteverdi, Richardo Rogniono and Jacopo Peri are not relics of past cultures. They are very much alive.
