Cincinnati’s fabulous biennial light and art festival is behind us – but that doesn’t mean a bleak, post-BLINK wasteland is ahead of us. Here are some highlights from the coming week’s busy cultural calendar.

BLINK, and you might miss it. For four days every two years, the cityscape of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky comes alive with the nation’s largest festival of light, art and projections. BLINK Cincinnati dominates this week’s cultural calendar, of course, but there’s more here to enjoy.
Culture FIX, Sept. 25-Oct. 1
We’re beginning to see all the traditional, familiar signs of fall in Cincinnati: The days become shorter than the nights, the Reds miss the playoffs, the Bengals spot the rest of the league three games . . . Still, it’s warm enough to enjoy various outdoor arts and culture events, and this week’s schedule is packed with them.
Culture FIX: Aug. 28-Sept. 3
Hot enough for you yet? This week, it’s obvious that summer isn’t ready to let us go – but we’re certainly not ready to let summer fun go, either.
Culture FIX, July 10-16
Last week, our Culture FIX schedule was heavy on outdoor music, especially with Fourth of July holiday events. This week is more about balance, with several can’t-miss visual art exhibitions and theater productions opening. And yes, there are fine musical events as well.

Sound the Alarm, Stop Making Sense, Tinfoil Hat Cowboys, Rewind to the 80s. No, it’s not a presidential debate. It’s part of this week’s Culture FIX lineup, which features a wide range of outdoor concerts and Fourth of July celebrations. Grab a blanket, pack a picnic and get ready for the fireworks.

Get those picnic baskets and lawn chairs ready. This week’s Culture FIX is loaded with summer outdoor arts/entertainment series that are kicking off their seasons during the next few days. Also, Cincinnati’s annual celebration of classic cars, Concours d’Elegance, revs up again at Ault Park.
Culture FIX, May 29-June 4
Now that Memorial Day weekend is behind us, summer-oriented arts and culture seasons – from outdoor cinema to a farmers’ market to food festivals to art fairs to jazz series – are kicking off in earnest. Let’s take a look at the week’s highlights.
Culture FIX: May 22-28
We’re at that sweet spot in the calendar where it might not be summer officially, but you certainly can feel it: No more frost advisories. The May Festival wrapping up. Outdoor concert series sprouting throughout the area. And partying with 500,000 of your closest friends at the Taste of Cincinnati. Yep, we’re headed for summer – come what May.
Culture FIX: April 24-30
Cincinnati is among the top cities increasing downtown foot traffic with a 28% increase from last year. This week, we have the Asian Food Fest and Jazz at the Square, plus Tunes & Blooms at the Cincinnati Zoo and other outdoor events. So get out and start trafficking those feet!
