Culture FIX: May 25-31

This week is a bit of a cusp week. Many fall-spring seasons have wrapped up, and summer seasons haven’t quite gotten up to speed. Don’t think for a second, though, that there isn’t still plenty to do this last week of May, especially since it coincides with Memorial Day. Here’s a sampling to prove the point:

Culture FIX: Dec. 8-14

The Christmas season is all about family and tradition, so what a nice time for a homecoming appearance. As your usual fearless cultural tour guide, Thom Mariner, soaks up tropical sunshine this week, I’m happy to step in to help you sort through the offerings on tap this week. As you’d expect for mid-December, there’s plenty to choose from. And I mean “plenty” in the “there certainly are plenty of cookies around this time of year” sense. Apparently, DST was the cue a queue of festivals was waiting for, because this weekend is chock full of ’em. The bigger ones even offer a selection of beverages suitable for toasting. So go forth and celebrate!
