CET has launched a new music and performance program, “River Valley Rhythms.”
The first episode, featuring the Blue Wisp Big Band, aired in mid-April. It will repeat on CET Arts at 8 p.m. Monday, May 2.
The Cincinnati Jazz Hall of Fame will induct nine musicians on April 30. The 2016 inductees, chosen by the Hall of Fame’s board and nominated by the public, are musicians vocalists, bands, clubs and educators who were either born in Cincinnati or have a connection with the city.
The partnership is designed to help filmmakers bridge cultural and national boundaries, address common social challenges in a global community, and learn about the historical/cultural background and art of all cities in the program.
Honorees are Normand and Lisa Desmarais, Theodore H.H. Harris, Raymond G. Hebert and Joe Brennan, for their ongoing accomplishments in history, education and community service.
