
In 1978, a young conductor made his festival debut, and it was announced he would take over musical leadership of the festival going forward. His name was James Conlon.
The Cincinnati Jazz Hall of Fame will induct nine musicians on April 30. The 2016 inductees, chosen by the Hall of Fame’s board and nominated by the public, are musicians vocalists, bands, clubs and educators who were either born in Cincinnati or have a connection with the city.
The partnership is designed to help filmmakers bridge cultural and national boundaries, address common social challenges in a global community, and learn about the historical/cultural background and art of all cities in the program.
Honorees are Normand and Lisa Desmarais, Theodore H.H. Harris, Raymond G. Hebert and Joe Brennan, for their ongoing accomplishments in history, education and community service.
