
Richard Rosenthal has spent decades turning his daydreams into philanthropic undertakings that have enriched lives, fed the hungry and provided opportunities – educational, artistic, occupational – for hundreds of thousands of Greater Cincinnatians.
FotoFocus, the region-wide, biennial celebration of lens-based art, returns this month. The theme for 2016 is “Photography – The Undocument,” examining the extent to which photography and videography capture or distort/mask reality. Though national and international talent will be showcased throughout the month, Movers & Makers has focused on five local lens-based artists with solo shows and their approach to this year’s theme.
While the new administrators were busy attending to the needs of SCPA faculty, staff and students, executive director Nick Nissley realized “the real crisis was that we had lost the trust and confidence of our investors, of the donor community.” The public couldn’t discern the difference between the Friends of SCPA fundraising organization and the school itself, he said.
