Mergers can be so hard. Egos get bruised, toes get stomped, feelings get hurt. But that is not what happened this summer when three organizations focused on helping local nonprofits merged to form the BEAM Center for Nonprofits.
Movers & Makers reached out this month to regional nonprofit organizations, asking leaders to share recent or current innovative programs they are employing to better serve their missions. This is part of M&M’s continuing effort to recognize those making a difference in Greater Cincinnati’s nonprofit ecosystem.
According to Rob Reifsnyder, current OneSource Center board chair and inaugural board chair of BEAM Center for Nonprofits, “This new organization reflects a shared commitment to helping nonprofits succeed. By combining resources and expertise, BEAM will provide greater value, encourage collaboration and increase community impact. The unified organization will work to strengthen nonprofits, develop leaders and engage philanthropists across our region.”
The redesigned website and a new video storytelling series are part of an effort to make the collections, exhibitions and programs more accessible.
The program places students from around the country inside growing startups and helps aspiring founders develop businesses of their own.
The one-day Future of Data Hackathon pairs tech teams with local nonprofits to design and build custom digital, AI-driven solutions for specific business uses.
Through this partnership, early-stage life sciences companies in Northern Kentucky will receive critical support, including access to lab infrastructure, technical support and potential collaboration opportunities with Thermo Fisher.
For winning, each team will take part in a summer program and receive a prize package valued at more than $28,000. The package includes a Main Street Ventures Launch grant, housing and living expenses for the program’s duration.
Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood will once again transform into a hub for local tech and innovation this October 7-10 with the return of StartupCincy Week. This weeklong event celebrates innovative entrepreneurs and the strength of the support network unique to the Greater Cincinnati region.
