The Covington, Ky. museum reopened Tuesday after being closed since early January for a series of renovations and space updates.

A long-dead artist, a terrible opera singer, a friendly but homesick alien and a Man in Black walk into a bar . . . Well, wait a minute. Actually, they’re walking into Culture FIX this week. There’s no punch line here, just another varied, unpredictable week full of activity in Cincinnati’s arts and culture scene.

It ain’t summer until the crazy lady sings, at least that’s the case this year. Cincinnati Opera opens with works from 1835 (complete with “mad scene”) and 2021 this week, along with the debut of a new piano competition and the return of a newish chamber festival, while the 2022-23 theater season finally comes to a close. Happy summer!
