How do you follow up an event that drew more than a million people to downtown Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine for four days of art and light during its inaugural year? If you’re the organizers of BLINK, you go even bigger,…
For four evenings in the middle of October, downtown Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine will be lit up in ways none of us have ever seen before. But it is not just light, it’s light as art – the premise behind and the promise of BLINK. It appears we should get ready to think about light, and about our city, in a whole new way.
The disruptive duo at the helm of local marketing agency Agar cut their teeth on college parties and special events for young adults. But now they’re about to help throw their biggest party ever, co-presenting BLINK, one of the largest light, art and projection mapping events in the nation.
A new four-day festival will debut next fall, presented by some of the same folks who produced the popular Lumenocity events in Cincinnati. The light show will be programmed in four zones, with each zone featuring a range of experiences, from street-level sculptures to murals and live performances.
