What a week. From Carole King to ceramics to fairy tales, take your pick from an eclectic collection of culture offerings. High points include a CCM master class offered by CSO violinist Augustin Hadelich or a fantastical, horrific look at the potential of technology. Culture FIX: March 6-12

Bach’s B Minor Mass is surely a must-hear, this week, but that’s not to say there’s nothing else of import happening around us. Women’s History Month kicks off at the Harriet Beecher Stowe House. The Jewish Music Festival and Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra share music created in concentration camps. Imani Winds is not your father’s woodwind quintet. The arts are indeed about beauty, but the arts also teach.

Culture FIX: April 19-25

This week encompasses the full spectrum, from cultural events about our history to contemporary dance, from al fresco art and music to a trio of film events (one celebrating the outdoors), two powerful examples of Iranian artists standing up to fundamentalist oppression, an exploration of what financially divides us, new and traditional theater, art from around the nation, plus with a variety of music that illustrates our shared humanity. There’s a lot to take in.

Culture FIX: Oct. 26-Nov. 1

Dance, dance and more dance… Grateful for a rare bounty of movement this week, but there’s plenty to choose from across the arts spectrum. Just watch out for an occasional zombie here or there. Happy Halloween!
