Dare we even say it? “Back to normal”? Ever since the COVID pandemic brought the 2019-20 performing arts season to a halt, we’ve been looking forward to the day when our musical organizations could resume a full schedule. Looks like we’re just about there, though none of us are likely to take the miracle of live performance for granted again. Let’s count our blessings.
And just like that, summer is upon us. Theater, concerts, a little thing called Summerfair, and the launch of Fringe. But wait, there’s more… (Please try to keep up, ok? 😉
Whether Einstein said it or not, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” We at M&M are in the clear here because we expect the same thing each week — you peruse; you pick; you hopefully come back next week for more!

Now that you all have done your good deeds and donated on #GivingTuesday, we can all celebrate by looking for distractions in the days ahead. Here’s my starter list…
It used to be that major acts passed us by. No longer. Check out this list, with local treasures too, and take advantage of what is a formidable collection of unique opportunities. We have definitely hit the big time.
If you can find a more diverse set of event recommendations for this week ahead, well… We do our best. And more importantly, kudos to those presenters putting these options in front of you. Truly impressive.
Chamber Music Cincinnati will perform each concert this coming season not only in Memorial Hall, but in one of the area’s largest Black churches. Plus, they asked every ensemble that is performing on the series to play at least one work by a Black or a Brown composer.
Having a year off to contemplate one’s future sometimes brings about major change, and that is precisely what Chamber Music Cincinnati is bringing to its 2021-22 season.
