Summermusik continues, while Homer’s “Odyssey” journeys to the Museum Center. Summer marches on and, fortunately, so do the arts. Don’t miss what Cincy Shakes has to offer this week – indoors and out – or check out the musical offerings in our Cincinnati parks. Venture out of your AC, get some fresh air and find something new to do.

Culture FIX: July 31-Aug. 6

The arts are alive and well even in the dead of summer. Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra opens its monthlong Summermusik festival, while the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra gets movin’ across the river. Queen City Opera’s game-changing take on Mozart’s “Magic Flute” jumps on at the Aronoff. Plenty of outdoor music and some good theater pieces round out the week.

Last week, our Culture FIX schedule was heavy on outdoor music, especially with Fourth of July holiday events. This week is more about balance, with several can’t-miss visual art exhibitions and theater productions opening. And yes, there are fine musical events as well.
