Spring is sprung, the grass is riz, I wonder where the culture is. Well, it’s all around us this week – and with the start of the season, we celebrate everything from a noble gas to music for European aristocrats to the Sport of Kings.

Culture FIX: March 13-19

Eclectic is the word of the week. Insects, Broadway flops (or not), German codes, incomplete symphonies, anti-feminism and a singing group called Whiffenpoofs? This “no theme” week of diverse events demonstrates the wide variety available any given week. How many cities our size can match that? Enjoy talented, teenage musicians playing their winning concertos with the Blue Ash/Montgomery Symphony or some ghostly jazz at The Memo. Or, check out a movie at The Woodward and grab a pre-film sandwich across the street MOTR. Never a dull moment in the Queen City.

Culture FIX: March 6-12

Bach’s B Minor Mass is surely a must-hear, this week, but that’s not to say there’s nothing else of import happening around us. Women’s History Month kicks off at the Harriet Beecher Stowe House. The Jewish Music Festival and Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra share music created in concentration camps. Imani Winds is not your father’s woodwind quintet. The arts are indeed about beauty, but the arts also teach.
