Culture FIX: Nov. 29-Dec. 5

The leaves are raked, the lights are up, the turkeys have been picked clean (and so, some say, have the Bengals) … And now, ’tis the season! Make way for a feast of holiday fare: “The Nutcracker,” “Messiah,” “Feast of Carols,” “White Christmas,” “Advent Lessons” and other favorites highlight the week.

Culture FIX: Nov. 22-28

Take a deep breath and rest a bit before the culture-saturated holiday season heats up. Enjoy time with family and friends and take in some Queen City favorites, together. Families can enjoy the Christkindlmarkt or some fun on the Purple People Bridge. Or, drop the kids at Grandma’s and head out for a date night to the symphony. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Culture FIX: Nov. 15-21

Do you like jazz? How about lights? There’s a lot of both this week. Not a bad thing. And Shakespeare is plentiful, if that’s your gig. The CSO performs an interesting operatic version of “Hamlet”, fully staged and designed by Paris’ famed Opéra Comique while Xavier stages “Twelfth Night.” Enjoy.

Yours Truly is truly glad to be back on the beat, guiding you in search of your next FIX. This week is a cornucopia of events from art openings to movies to a big brass band. Indulge yourself before the busy holiday season really gears up and find something inspiring or fun or relaxing to do.
