We’re at that sweet spot in the calendar where it might not be summer officially, but you certainly can feel it: No more frost advisories. The May Festival wrapping up. Outdoor concert series sprouting throughout the area. And partying with 500,000 of your closest friends at the Taste of Cincinnati. Yep, we’re headed for summer – come what May.

CSO Music Director Louis Langrée conducts his final concerts this week. Our fair city offers up plenty of other cultural gems for your review, though: the close of the Ballet’s 60th season, urban-inspired art, several flavors of jazz, wildlife lectures, Appalachian culture and more. Enjoy!

Julia Wolfe shapes the 2024 May Festival

On the heels of celebrating its 150th year, the May Festival starts this season adopting a new model for artistic leadership. Instead of having an ongoing music director, the festival intends for audiences to benefit from the changing perspectives of annual festival directors. The plan is to nurture artistic innovation and “exciting new collaborations,” according to a festival release.

Culture FIX: April 24-30

Cincinnati is among the top cities increasing downtown foot traffic with a 28% increase from last year. This week, we have the Asian Food Fest and Jazz at the Square, plus Tunes & Blooms at the Cincinnati Zoo and other outdoor events. So get out and start trafficking those feet!
