Culture FIX: May 6-12

Many of our favorite groups conclude their seasons in the next few days. From Grateful Dead to Beethoven, there is plenty of music on tap. Our rich jazz scene holds its own and you can experience a “walking concert.” There’s not quite 525,600 minutes of culture, this week, but surely spring is the season of love.

Culture FIX, Dec. 3-9

Some of us haven’t even finished slicing the last tasty bits off the Thanksgiving turkey, and already we’re full steam ahead with big Christmas-season events all around. It’s a busy, busy week for arts and culture. Take a look.

Culture FIX: March 26-April 1

As the temperature rises, Music Hall commands the calendar. Not a bad thing. CSO Proof has some interesting dance moves on tap (tango, actually) or settle in for a musical world tour. Our young, up-and-coming orchestra musicians play side by side with the CSO and Jazz at the Square opens for the summer.

Culture FIX: Dec. 4-10

“I shall elucidate,” said the Mad Hatter. Please allow Yours Truly to do the same. Have a good laugh with that Mad Hatter at ETC, while teacups, candlesticks and a Beast take the stage in Price Hill. Enjoy a Feast of Carolsor or a little Bach at Music Hall. Start the holiday season off right with a bevy of artsy choices.

Culture FIX: Feb. 28-March 5

Quick quiz: Which of these things does not belong with the others? Jazz harp. A sharp-eared fox. An extra day. Thirsty goats. A Sausage Queen. A pot of stew. A pile of food cans.
