Now after two years of planning, designing, casting, rehearsing and building, Sweeney Todd will soon swing his bloody razors at UC’s Corbett Auditorium. The production features a newly constructed trick barber chair for the “demon barber” to dispose of his unfortunate victims.

Well, the neighbors down the street put up their Halloween decorations on Labor Day weekend, so it shouldn’t be too surprising that some local cultural groups are starting October with spooky doings. But the week also brings big events that are more delight than fright. Let’s see what we can scare up:
For more than a half-century, Kronos has been relentless in pursuit of its mission, commissioning more than 1,000 new works, and recording so many that the group has become a staple of classical music radio. Kronos has collaborated with hundreds of performers, including David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails.
