Culture FIX: April 29-May 5

I have good news and some bad news. The good: Arts and culture offerings in late spring bloom like honeysuckle in these parts. The bad: You’ll have to clone yourself to get to it all. If you can’t do that, you’ll just have to plan wisely. Don’t fret too much, though. There are no wrong answers.

Costumes ready? Jack-o-lanterns lit? Creepy sound effects oozing from the boxwoods? It’s Halloween time, and even if you’re not into trick-or-treating or costume parties, there are plenty of cultural events with a Halloween twist on the calendar this week.

Culture FIX: Dec. 18-24

The holidays are here. If you need a break from shopping, singing, hosting and eating, wind down with some good jazz or theater or gut-busting comedy. Calm yourself with some candlelit choral music or a rousing “And he shall purify.” Whatever your holiday emotions demand, Queen City arts can supply.
