Culture FIX: May 1-7

The fact that our city can support dozens of smaller galleries and community theater groups, plus children’s performing ensembles and music in churches at lunchtime speaks to how deeply the love and appreciation of arts and culture runs in us. To say nothing of the talent! Have a look and find something new, something smaller-but-mighty to experience this week.

Culture FIX: March 13-19

Eclectic is the word of the week. Insects, Broadway flops (or not), German codes, incomplete symphonies, anti-feminism and a singing group called Whiffenpoofs? This “no theme” week of diverse events demonstrates the wide variety available any given week. How many cities our size can match that? Enjoy talented, teenage musicians playing their winning concertos with the Blue Ash/Montgomery Symphony or some ghostly jazz at The Memo. Or, check out a movie at The Woodward and grab a pre-film sandwich across the street MOTR. Never a dull moment in the Queen City.

Culture FIX: Nov. 15-21

Do you like jazz? How about lights? There’s a lot of both this week. Not a bad thing. And Shakespeare is plentiful, if that’s your gig. The CSO performs an interesting operatic version of “Hamlet”, fully staged and designed by Paris’ famed Opéra Comique while Xavier stages “Twelfth Night.” Enjoy.

Culture FIX: March 15-21

Beyond ceramics madness this week, there are other options a-plenty in music, theater, dance, comedy and Legos (yet another madness in its own). Fit these in and around Xavier and NKU b-ball games, or as a substitute if things get ugly – your choice!

Culture FIX: Aug. 3-9

What’s interesting about these less-crammed mid-summer weeks is what rises to the top when half of us on vacation elsewhere. Just means more for us still around, right?

Culture FIX: Feb. 9-15

wl sugar plums dancing in our heads, but we have to keep ourselves occupied in the meantime, right? Here’s a heaping helping to fill up your pre-game dance card.

Culture FIX: May 12-18

It must be getting near cicada time, right? As you continue to look for signs, take a look at these emerging events below. But no need here to be careful where you step.
