World War I ended with Germany’s surrender on Nov. 11, 1918, after 4½ years of conflict. Just one month later, an exposition came to Music Hall celebrating the Allied victory and those Cincinnatians who served their country.

FotoFocus Biennial arrived earlier this year with openings for a few fabulous photography-based and photography-inspired exhibitions. This month, things heat up with keynote lectures and special events.
Cincinnati-based FotoFocus announced the lineup and theme for the FotoFocus Biennial, scheduled for October.
FotoFocus presents, Second Century: Photography, Feminism, Politics. This free, one-day symposium features international and local speakers addressing topics around feminist approaches to photography and lens-based art in today’s socio-political climate.
FotoFocus, the region-wide, biennial celebration of lens-based art, returns this month. The theme for 2016 is “Photography – The Undocument,” examining the extent to which photography and videography capture or distort/mask reality. Though national and international talent will be showcased throughout the month, Movers & Makers has focused on five local lens-based artists with solo shows and their approach to this year’s theme.
