The votes are in, and this week’s lineup of Cincinnati arts and cultural events is officially a winner. Several outstanding classical-music concerts lead the way, but if you’re looking for theater productions, art exhibits or traditional holiday events, they’re on the list too.
Autumn is upon us. The stunning colors and the crisp air invite us to get out and enjoy the season leading up to a gorgeous Hunter’s moon at the end of the month. Outdoor fun is winding down, but there are a lot of warm and cozy things to do inside this week. The CSO has fired back up and there are some interesting movies on tap. And, there’s sauerkraut. Enjoy plentiful theater and jazz as the Queen City falls headlong into, well, Fall.
The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra (KSO) kicks off its 32nd season this October. There are five shows, and seven performances overall.
It’s a pleasure to highlight the week’s most intriguing events during this holiday season. Some may seem a bit offbeat, but hey, that’s culture!
Dance, dance and more dance… Grateful for a rare bounty of movement this week, but there’s plenty to choose from across the arts spectrum. Just watch out for an occasional zombie here or there. Happy Halloween!
And the seasons begin to close… It does not seem possible that we are nearing the end of the main 2021-22 performance season, but here we are. Get ’em while they’re hot. Just a few weeks left before the switch-over to summer. Still plenty of great things to choose from, I promise!
wl sugar plums dancing in our heads, but we have to keep ourselves occupied in the meantime, right? Here’s a heaping helping to fill up your pre-game dance card.
Over the past three years, it seems that there have been more than the usual number of notable leadership changes among Greater Cincinnati choral groups. Some shifts were driven by retirements. Others came about as directors departed for new positions. And some were propelled by the uncertainty that has upended nearly every aspect of life during the past two years.
As the nights begin earlier starting this weekend, maybe it’s best to fill up your dance card to ease this blow…? Options ahead…
And you thought April Fool’s was three weeks ago. Welcome to winter’s last, thankfully brief, revenge. But spring returns for the rest of the week, and we have events a-plenty to warm your spirit.
