As quiet as last week was (Independence Day in the way), this must be make-up time: Cincinnati Opera, OTR Film Festival, Art of the Piano and the new Ascent Music Series. Plus, a handful of art openings, some new theater, and much more. Get out and explore!

Culture FIX: May 4-10

This week appears to be “Theater Week,” with seven (7!) openings between Thursday and Tuesday. On Saturday or Sunday, take Mom out to explore Asian and/or Hispanic food and culture or photos inspired by the pandemic. Happy Mother’s Day! Hug her tight if you still have one.

Volunteers needed for Summerfair

Summerfair 2016 has put out the call for volunteers to work during the show. The event relies on 400 volunteers, with shifts averaging two hours. Proceeds from Summerfair help fund grants to local nonprofits and arts groups to support art-related projects.
