The center will provide AI resources and guidance, connect Miami researchers and faculty with outside partners and coordinate the university’s AI initiatives. One of its first tasks will be forming internal and national advisory boards and exploring a physical space.
The university’s regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown launched the Department of Applied Computing and Engineering Technology as part of its expansion of hands-on, career-focused education. The department also is adding two associate degree programs.
The funding will support Miami’s Center of Excellence in Literacy, Education, Advancement, and Development, known as MU-LEAD. The university is one of three institutions sharing $2.5 million to develop and expand Structured Literacy Centers across Ohio.
