Culture FIX: June 26-July 2

This week offers up eclectic choices from “Barbie” to salsa. Washington Park is a hopping place and if art is your thing, Kroner and Pendleton have interesting offerings. Bourbon, barbeque and 1920s Paris round out June, catapulting us into a short, welcome holiday week. Inside or out, it’s all there.

Culture FIX: Nov. 22-28

Take a deep breath and rest a bit before the culture-saturated holiday season heats up. Enjoy time with family and friends and take in some Queen City favorites, together. Families can enjoy the Christkindlmarkt or some fun on the Purple People Bridge. Or, drop the kids at Grandma’s and head out for a date night to the symphony. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Culture FIX: Nov. 23-29

Yes, this is the only weekend you’ll ever see me advocate holiday gift shopping. We’re talking artful shopping, with a dash of dance and a heaping helping of music to kick off your Advent season.

Culture FIX: Oct. 26-Nov. 1

Dance, dance and more dance… Grateful for a rare bounty of movement this week, but there’s plenty to choose from across the arts spectrum. Just watch out for an occasional zombie here or there. Happy Halloween!

“It’s the holiday season…” Or so they tell me. Having spent a week in Mexico City before they decorate (Nothing much begins there until Dec. 12), we find ourselves in catch-up mode this week. Nothing puts you in the mood more, however, than plowing through a week’s worth of Christmas concert listings. Here’s a helping heaping… enjoy!
