“Connecting Cultures: Cincinnati to Guatemala,” produced by filmmaker Laure Quinlivan, follows the work of Cooperative for Education, a Cincinnati-based nonprofit founded by brothers Joe and John Berninger to improve literacy and education in Guatemala.
The funding will support 46 arts organizations across Greater Cincinnati, helping pay for performances, exhibitions, arts education and other community programming.
The funding supports a variety of initiatives, from arts and cultural programs to community spaces and inclusive youth activities, with grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000.
This year’s awards will support projects across Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and eastern Indiana, ranging from youth orchestras and vocal scholarships to free community concerts and music outreach initiatives.
The 45 grant recipients represent a range of large, mid-size and small nonprofit organizations across the region. Grant sizes vary widely, typically ranging from $10,000 to over $1 million.
Rachel Hastings will replace longtime executive director Sarah Thomas. Hastings will assume her new role in January 2025.
Longtime Price Hill Will staffer Samantha Conover is taking the reins as the nonprofit’s interim executive director. The organization plans to search for a full-time replacement.
The grants to 21 regional organizations to support a range of outreach programs focused on the promotion of music and music education.
Funding went to 12 local organizations, ranging from city governments and community centers to nonprofits such as Price Hill Will.
The collection of Greater Cincinnati and Dayton organizations received funding to support efforts ranging from music education and gallery exhibitions to academic research.
