Marriott Hotels will operate the under-construction 700-room hotel connected to the Duke Energy Convention Center, marking a major step in Cincinnati’s efforts to boost its downtown Convention District as a top destination for large-scale meetings and events.
City leaders, Crossroad officials, 3CDC and other partners gathered in late June to mark the $15.6 million project’s kickoff.
The new sign is part of the overall redevelopment of the Duke Energy Convention Center and downtown’s emergency Convention Center District.
A coalition of private funders and Hamilton County is backing a series of upgrades to the 119-year-old Cincinnati venue, ranging from roof repairs to restoration of its glittering historic arches.
The new facility will span more than 60,000 square feet and include recreation and multi-purpose space and a range of amenities.
This year’s performances will run from Dec. 19 to 29 at Music Hall, with shows after Christmas for the first time in many years.
The awards went to organizations focused on areas such as promoting neighborhood development, workforce development, education, and arts and culture. There’s a particular focus on low-income communities.
The beloved holiday characters had spent the past two years in the windows at The Foundry in the Central Business District.
From Dec. 1 to 31, visitors can enjoy the story walk, and the lighting enhancements will remain in the park until February 2025.
The $11.1 million in grant funding will construct 43 EV charging stations in areas across Greater Cincinnati.
