Urban Derby party will benefit Elementz

Saturday, May 7, 3-7 p.m.; Nation Kitchen and Grill, 1200 Broadway

For the first time, Elementz youth arts center will partner with Nation Kitchen and Grill to host Urban Derby, a Kentucky Derby watch party.

Guests will enjoy music, simulcast races, a cash bar and menu from Nation, signature Derby drinks from George Remus Bourbon and prizes for creative Derby attire.
The event will celebrate the organization’s role in the community — inviting stakeholders, patrons and neighbors to dress up, hang out, eat well and and have a great time.

“Elementz has been a great cultivator of young talent, and this event will be a great opportunity for the creative community to come together and support the organization,” said Tysonn Betts, board president for the center.

Elementz aims to make a significant impact on young lives, teaching art as well as community engagement and leadership skills to inner-city teens. Its work has been possible through collaborations with MetroLAB; Christ Church Cathedral; the University of Cincinnati College of  Design, Art, Architecture and Planning; Procter & Gamble Design; Cincinnati Pops; Cincinnati Ballet; and Temple Sholom.

Tickets are $100. Proceeds will benefit Elementz.
