An evening for Seniors Who Rock

Wednesday, Aug. 24, 4:30 p.m., Cooper Creek, 4040 Cooper Road, Blue Ash

Pro Seniors will honor five “seniors who rock.”

What qualifies a person for this title? Honorees are at least 70 years old and working or volunteering to add value and vibrancy to the community.

This year’s honorees are:

Sister Kathryn Ann Connelly, an educator for over 40 years and the first female superintendent of the Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Today, she is involved in Education Matters and Community Matters in Lower Price Hill.

Lilly Narusevich, who coordinated the refugee resettlement program at Jewish Family Service and continues to volunteer and advocate for refugees and Holocaust survivors.

Walter H. Rice, judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. He helped found and continues to serve the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project.

Jim Scott, who for more than 40 years provided a soundtrack to Cincinnatians’ lives on WLW radio. He also has been dedicated to the community, helping found the March of Dimes Walk.

Dee Shaffer, an active community volunteer following a 34-year career as senior vice president of finance and administration at PBS television station CET. She now works for Clever Crazes for Kids.

Tickets are $46 and include light bites from Jeff Thomas Catering, an open bar and the awards presentation.
