Assistance League provides uniforms for students

As school bells begin ringing again, the need for school uniforms returns. That’s where Assistance League comes in.

Buses of schoolchildren pull up to group’s Bond Hill building, and Assistance League members help outfit students from 37 public and parochial schools. The children receive uniform shirts and pants, jackets, belts, underwear and socks. Vouchers are provided for those needing shoes.

Last year, more than 2,100 kids were outfitted, and more are expected this year.
