The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens will be honored as the 2016 Outstanding Community Partner during Easter Seals TriState’s annual awards gala. The Brighter Futures Celebration also will highlight the talents, achievements and ambitions of three people involved in Easter Seals programs.

The award is presented annually to a person or company that removes barriers and provides opportunities for people with disabilities or disadvantages. The Cincinnati Zoo has been involved in Easter Seals’ work in the community for more than 10 years.

The zoo welcomes volunteers from Easter Seals programs for people with disabilities. When it needed Avondale properties deconstructed to make way for new developments, the zoo enlisted the Easter Seals program that provides on-the-job construction.

And the zoo’s recycle bins were commissioned from an Easter Seals program that trains people with disabilities in carpentry and woodworking.

Honorary co-chairs are Thomas and Beth Johnson. Deloitte is the presenting sponsor.

Tickets are $125 per person.
