Cancer doctors, researchers to be honored at Evening of Hope

More than 250 guests are expected for Cancer Support Community Greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky’s ninth annual Evening of Hope Gala.

The event will honor 10 individuals and groups in cancer care and research. One winner from each category will be recognized at the event.

This year’s nominees in the area of cancer care are five oncology professionals: Dr. Elyse Lower of UC Health; Dr. Brian Turpin of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center; Dr. David Waterhouse of Oncology Hematology Care; Dr. Cynthia Chua of OHC; and Dr. Rajaram Nagarajan of Children’s. Nominees in cancer research are the OHC Research Team; Bexion Pharmaceuticals; Dr. Zalfa Malek of UC Health; and Dr. Maryam Fouladi of Children’s.

Event committee members include Rodney Johnson, chair; Terry Allman Jr.; Shari Goldsmith; Kelly Schoening Holden; Blaire Kappes; Kim Moreno Mays; and Matt Sathe. Sponsors include  PNC, Bartlett & Co., AXA Advisors, Elaine and Robert Blatt, Frost Brown Todd, Linda and Mike Green, U.S. Bank, Oncology Hematology Care, Ovarian Cancer Alliance Greater Cincinnati and Marsh & McLennan Agency.

Tickets are $150. Proceeds will help support CSC’s free programs and services.
