At its annual Human Relations Reception, American Jewish Committee Cincinnati will present its 2017 Community Service Award to Anne P. Heldman.
The event is chaired by Brooke Guigui. Honorary co-chairs are Rosemary and Frank Bloom, Jody Brant, Jim Friedman, Helen Greenberg and Jim Heldman.
In addition to AJC, Heldman is a major benefactor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and sponsors its Lollipop concerts and the Linton Series’ Peanut Butter and Jam sessions for young children. She and sons Paul, Fred and Roger established and support the Jewish Family Service Heldman Family Food Pantry on the campus of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. And, annually, seven local Jewish college students are awarded Heldman scholarships through JVS Career Services. In addition, Heldman recently created a fund at Planned Parenthood to cover the cost of long-term contraceptives for low-income young women.
Yonah Jeremy Bob, an intelligence, terrorism and legal analyst for the Jerusalem Post, will speak. He covers the Mossad, a variety of intelligence, terrorism, cyber and weapons of mass destruction issues.
Admission starts at $500.
