Sunday, April 24, 1-4 p.m., Baker Hunt Art & Cultural Center
Friends of the Rabbit Hash General Store hope an ice cream social can help generate the money needed to rebuild the iconic clapboard store that burned down in late February.
Rebuilding the landmark will also help restore the community, supporters say.
The 185-year-old store in Boone County, Ky.’s, Rabbit Hash community, has survived tragedies from floods to landslides. The store was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
The event will include live music, ice cream from United Dairy Farmers. Donors will receive a handmade commemorative bowl made by local artisans.
Tickets: $20 before April 17; $25 after.
