Playhouse in the Park receives grant to fund Diverse Voices

The Greater Cincinnati Foundation awarded a $50,000 Cultural Vibrancy Grant to Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park to help fund its Diverse Voices program, bringing residents together around arts experiences.

In 2012, with the arrival of artistic director Blake Robison, the Playhouse developed a strategic plan to set priorities for programming and institutional growth. As a result, the Diverse Voices program has pursued culturally specific programming, integrated artists of color into the organizational structure and empowered associate artists in the decision-making process of season planning.

The grant will allow the theater and its artists to further develop multicultural and multigenerational mainstage productions and continue to build community relationships through outreach and special events.
