Saturday, June 18, 9 a.m.-noon, Fernbank Park, 50 Thornton Ave., and Woodland Mound, 8386 Steamboat Drive
Folks of all ages are invited to be one of the thousands of volunteers who will spend a Saturday morning cleaning up the Ohio River and its tributaries.
The effort will be led by Great Parks of Hamilton County and the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission.
Great Parks will host efforts at Fernbank Park and Woodland Mound. Trash bags will be provided, and each volunteer will receive a free T-shirt.
More than 20,000 volunteers are expected to collect trash and debris from the banks of the entire Ohio River, from its origin in Pittsburgh to its end in Cairo, Illinois. The cleanup covers nearly 3,000 miles of shoreline, including tributaries.
