Bluegrass for Babies benefits Cincinnati Children’s

Bluegrass for Babies

Saturday, Sept. 17, 3-9 p.m., Seasongood Pavilion, Eden Park

The Bluegrass for Babies benefit concert is going back to its roots. The annual family-friendly concert, presented by the Healthy Roots Foundation, will return to its original location in Eden Park.

Three of the region’s top bluegrass bands will be on hand: Hocking River String Band, Comet Bluegrass All-Stars and Hickory Robot. Also planned is a children’s performance by Jennifer Ellis Music. The event will feature food from Dewey’s Pizza and craft beer from MadTree Brewing.

Tickets and donations help support infant and children’s health through Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center’s Center for the Prevention of Preterm Birth. Adult tickets are $12 for early birds, $15 in advance and $20 at the gate; children 12 and younger are admitted free. A $100 family package includes two adult tickets, two kids T-shirts, a parking pass and other VIP perks.

The benefit, an official Giving Hope fundraising event for Cincinnati Children’s, was started by Anne and Matt Schneider in 2009 as a way to give back to Children’s, which provided life-saving surgery to their newborn son.
