The Cincinnati Art Museum has announced details for the return of Art in Bloom, a four-day event showcasing floral designs inspired by the museum’s collection. The celebration, scheduled for April 24-27, will feature 65 floral artists from around the world.
Among the highlights, social media personality and foraging educator Alexis Nikole Nelson, known as Black Forager, will make a special appearance. The event will also welcome back Natasja Sadi, an Amsterdam-based floral photographer and sugar flower artist, who will present an installation and lead workshops.
A jury selected the floral artists, who range from professionals to hobbyists. Judges included Joshua Bickett, director of Tiffany & Co. Cincinnati; menswear designer Julian Collins, known as Julian Creates; Cincinnati-based photographer Hatsue; Lea Lachey, director of LacheyArts; Lyric-Morris-Latchaw, a contemporary painter and muralist; Teruko Nesbitt, cultural program coordinator for the Japan America Society of Greater Cincinnati; and Rachael Parker, director of Northern Kentucky Creative Placemaking at ArtsWave.
The event is chaired by Ann M. Keeling, president of Cristofoli Keeling Inc., alongside co-chair Litany Webster, senior manager of regulatory compliance at The Kroger Co.
“Last year’s Art in Bloom saw record attendance, with many ticketed events selling out quickly,” Keeling said. “This year, we’ve expanded programming to engage more visitors, with both free and ticketed events.”
About this year’s event
Art in Bloom displays will be open to the public free of charge during museum hours. Some events will require tickets, with presale available to museum members starting March 14 and general sales beginning March 21.
Visitors should make reservations for the museum’s Terrace Café due to anticipated demand. Box lunches will be available for purchase in the Great Hall, and preordered picnic packages can be arranged in advance.

The museum will offer free docent-led tours of the floral arrangements at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the exhibition. Groups of 10 or more must schedule tours in advance by calling the museum.
The event schedule includes workshops, lectures, and themed social gatherings. Nelson will present a talk titled “Happy Snacking… Don’t Die!” on April 26, discussing foraging and food history. Other events include a wine and floral soirée, floral luncheons, a tea party and brunches.
Art in Bloom is supported by The Oliver Family Foundation, Cincinnati MINI, and Natorp’s Nursery Outlet & Landscaping.
