How the program works

L.E.A.D. aims to equip professionals from business, nonprofit and civic organizations across Greater Cincinnati with the skills to lead effectively and collaborate more successfully. It plans to do so by focusing on four key areas:

  • Learn: Focused instruction with direct workplace application.
  • Engage: Group problem-solving and reflection to build trust and understanding.
  • Activate: Practicing responses to real-life leadership situations.
  • Discover: Time away from daily routines to reset and gain perspective.

According to the Center for Creative Leadership, 75% of participants in experiential programs report long-term improvement in their leadership ability.

“Leadership thrives in connection, challenge, and experience,” said Nate Hirt, program director at Camp Joy.

“Through experiential team building, leaders break free from isolation, build authentic relationships, and develop the adaptability needed to navigate today’s ever-changing landscape,” he continues. “This isn’t just learning—it’s transformation in action.”
