Culture FIX: May 6-12

Many of our favorite groups conclude their seasons in the next few days. From Grateful Dead to Beethoven, there is plenty of music on tap. Our rich jazz scene holds its own and you can experience a “walking concert.” There’s not quite 525,600 minutes of culture, this week, but surely spring is the season of love.

Culture FIX: Feb. 11-17

It’s time to roll off the couch and stop moaning about dirty snow. There’s plenty to entice, including some interesting plays, Cajun and Latin jazz or J.S. Bach. Black History Month continues while Swan Lake takes the stage. Don’t miss the extraordinary James McMillan’s “Seven Last Words from the Cross.” Enjoy some culture and new-found warmth.

Culture FIX, Dec. 3-9

Some of us haven’t even finished slicing the last tasty bits off the Thanksgiving turkey, and already we’re full steam ahead with big Christmas-season events all around. It’s a busy, busy week for arts and culture. Take a look.

Culture FIX: Oct. 15-21

Location, location, location. Memorial Hall seems to be where it’s at along with an underground art exhibit, spelling bees, telescopes, ghost stories and Mozart. Want to wear your cool Jerry Garcia tie? We have just the concert for that. Theater, organ, film and Henny Penny, all at the ready.

Culture FIX: Feb. 12-18

The region’s arts calendar is full speed ahead with compelling offerings on stage, screen and gallery. Further, while there’s not so much blatant pandering to the holiday, St. Valentine has filled his quiver with cultural opportunity, too. Whether you’re celebrating love or wishing the world would stop talking about it, we’ve got you covered.

Culture FIX: Dec. 4-10

“I shall elucidate,” said the Mad Hatter. Please allow Yours Truly to do the same. Have a good laugh with that Mad Hatter at ETC, while teacups, candlesticks and a Beast take the stage in Price Hill. Enjoy a Feast of Carolsor or a little Bach at Music Hall. Start the holiday season off right with a bevy of artsy choices.

Culture FIX, Sept. 25-Oct. 1

We’re beginning to see all the traditional, familiar signs of fall in Cincinnati: The days become shorter than the nights, the Reds miss the playoffs, the Bengals spot the rest of the league three games . . . Still, it’s warm enough to enjoy various outdoor arts and culture events, and this week’s schedule is packed with them.
