CSO needs Lumenocity volunteers

Lumenocity 2016

Lumenocity is just around the corner, and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra needs your help.

In conjunction with the CSO’s upcoming, temporary move to the Taft Theatre, the fourth annual Lumenocity is being transformed into a 50-minute, indoor light and projection spectacle, accompanied by the orchestra. Volunteers are needed to assist with the performances inside, or the associated Block Party (food trucks, activities, etc.) outside along Fifth Street.

Lumenocity will consist of 10 performances Friday, Aug. 5 through Sunday, Aug. 7. As a Thank You, volunteers and a guest will be invited to attend the dress rehearsal on Aug. 4 to experience the show before anyone else.

Volunteers may choose to work either inside the theater, outside at the block party or both. Responsibilities include:

  • Theater Crew: Before the performance you will take tickets and give patrons a wristband in exchange for their tickets. After the performance you will assist in cleaning and resetting the theatre for the next performance.
  • Block Party Crew: Assist with way-finding at the Block Party, help out at a children’s craft station and/or work in the merchandise booth.
  • Lantern Station: Help children create their very own lantern for the light parade.

Specific tasks will be assigned upon arrival for your shift. Please note: You must also sign up for a training session July 26, 5:30 p.m., at the Taft.

If you have not volunteered with the CSO before, contact Hannah Johnson (below) to sign-up. If you are a current volunteer, visit the My Volunteer page to sign up.
