The event on Sunday, Feb. 23 will run from noon to 4 p.m. at the historic home on Gilbert Ave. in Cincinnati’s Walnut Hills neighborhood.

Yours Truly always appreciates the outdoor creativity this town inspires. Fountain Square and The Genius of Water lend themselves to seasonal activities. Our riverfront always provides something fun and interesting to do, eat, hear or buy. Make your way downtown to hear some iconic film music performed by the best Cincinnati has to offer.

Eclectic is the word of the week. Insects, Broadway flops (or not), German codes, incomplete symphonies, anti-feminism and a singing group called Whiffenpoofs? This “no theme” week of diverse events demonstrates the wide variety available any given week. How many cities our size can match that? Enjoy talented, teenage musicians playing their winning concertos with the Blue Ash/Montgomery Symphony or some ghostly jazz at The Memo. Or, check out a movie at The Woodward and grab a pre-film sandwich across the street MOTR. Never a dull moment in the Queen City.

Bach’s B Minor Mass is surely a must-hear, this week, but that’s not to say there’s nothing else of import happening around us. Women’s History Month kicks off at the Harriet Beecher Stowe House. The Jewish Music Festival and Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra share music created in concentration camps. Imani Winds is not your father’s woodwind quintet. The arts are indeed about beauty, but the arts also teach.

It ain’t summer until the crazy lady sings, at least that’s the case this year. Cincinnati Opera opens with works from 1835 (complete with “mad scene”) and 2021 this week, along with the debut of a new piano competition and the return of a newish chamber festival, while the 2022-23 theater season finally comes to a close. Happy summer!
