This shift is intended to ensure the continued existence of MMP as co-publishers Thom and Elizabeth Mariner begin the multi-year process of handing off management and design to the next generation. No timeline is yet in place for that transition.

Movers & Makers, a print and digital publication serving the nonprofit sector for 25 years, has converted into a nonprofit organization in order to better align its mission with the sector it is covering.
In August of 2008, we took ownership of what was then Express Cincinnati from Mike and Nancy O’Connor, who had founded the publication in 1995 and grew it into a meaningful voice on behalf of Cincinnati nonprofits.
We began our Movers & Makers Awards last year as a way of publicly recognizing those nonprofits who produce inspiring events, inviting our readers to vote for their favorites online.
Thanks to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, we at Movers & Makers were forced to cancel our print issue for the first time in nearly 25 years.
